David Petso, CFP®
Founder & Owner
Dave is the Founder and Owner of Petso Financial Consultants, LLC, one of the top advisory firms in the Northwest. He has been a financial advisor for more than 30 years and manages over $500 million in assets. Dave specializes in income planning for retirees as well as foundations. He has been a leading advisor for Cambridge Investment Research since joining them in 2001. Cambridge Investment Research is an industry-leading independent broker-dealer. He is also a founding member of Cambridge Investment Research's Continuity Partners Group. Dave is best know as the host of “Money Matters” a live radio program every Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on KIDO AM 580. There he discusses various financial topics including the emotions of investing. Dave answers questions from callers and occasionally will have interviews with money managers, local business executives and politicians. He also appears every Monday on KTVB's Today's Morning News. Dave is a member and past president of the Idaho Chapter of the International Association of Financial Planners. He has enjoyed being the guest speaker for a number of investment groups and business organizations throughout the community. Dave has two adult daughters. He enjoys golf, scuba diving, and travel.
Jennifer Stone, CFP®
Jennifer is the President of Petso Financial Consultants, LLC. She has worked with Dave Petso since 1994 and is fortunate to have been an integral part of building this very successful firm. Jennifer earned her Certified Financial Planner designation in 2006. She works closely with Dave and his clients and also manages her own book of business. She is a registered principal and is responsible for overseeing administration and operations as well as supervising Petso Financial's Independent Advisors. Jennifer is married and has two daughters. She enjoys watching and playing soccer.
Thomas Brown, CFP®
Tom joined Petso Financial Consultants in 2005 after being with Micron Technology for over 17 years. He graduated from Idaho State University in 1989 with a BBA in Finance/Accounting. In July of 2011, Tom earned his Certified Financial Planner designation. Tom is married and has two children. He has run six marathons, is an 11 time Race to Robie Creek finisher, and enjoys golf, hunting, fishing and camping. In October 2013, he completed the Boise Foothills Frenzy 50K.
Administration / Client Services:
Teresa joined Petso Financial in January of 2014. She has degrees from the University of Wisconsin and Albertson College. An Army veteran, Teresa served in the Gulf War. She completed the Race to Robie Creek twice. Her three active boys keep her busy skiing, biking, and watching football and basketball games. She also enjoys teaching and practicing hot yoga.
Jenny came on board in November of 2014. Her experience in the financial industry includes time at Piper Jaffray and Smith Barney. An Idaho native, Jenny also likes to work on her farm, raising cattle and working horses. Jenny is married and has one daughter and one granddaughter.
Our Independent Financial Advisors
Dick began his financial services career in 1979 with Piper Jaffray in Boise, Idaho. He has an accounting degree and MBA from West Virginia University. He has two adult children and four grandchildren. Dick spends his spare time enjoying golf, travel and duplicate bridge.
Kathy Young, CFP®
Kathy is a graduate of Purdue University. Kathy has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. She earned her Certified Financial Planner certification in 1992. She is a member and past president of the Boise chapter of the Financial Planning Association. Kathy specializes in long term financial planning relationships with individuals, couples and small business owners. Kathy has two daughters and two grandchildren.
John has over 20 years of experience in the financial industry. He graduated from the Eastern Oregon State College with a degree in Business Economics. John specializes in assisting small businesses and farmers in the Treasure Valley. John is married and has six children and three grandchildren. He is a member of the Treasure Valley Handball Association.
